Twitter vs Facebook

I have both, here and here. I know a great many people who turn their noses up at twitter and say 'what's the point?!' 'I will never get twitter' blah, blah.

I have thought, a great many times, about deleting my facebook - but never my twitter account. As India Knight says:

'facebook is all the people you went to school with, but twitter is all the people you wish you went to school with.'

I could not agree more; Twitter is far more friendly, less evasive, snappier and filled with a dose more fun than it's more popular counterpart.

Facebook is full of bitchy comments, disheartening stalking, sighs of despair and feelings of sickness. I wish I had the guts to delete mine, but I need to keep in touch with my favourite friends and keep tabs on certain people.

It's a love to hate thing as 'facebook' irritates me 80% of the time.. your thoughts??

  2. I do not have a facebook or a twitter account. I did at one point have a facebook but I didnt see the point. Everyone I love and care for I keep in contact with. People who wouldn't say hi to me if they ran into me at the store are wishing me a happy birthday? That just didn't feel authentic. I do miss keeping in touch with my friend who live far away, but GMail has helped with that.

  5. I have both but I deleted my facebook and re-opened it with only a few people on it. Loving it that way much better - less bitchy and drama filled. And as for twitter.. just love it. @myheartstumbles

  6. It's nice to not be the only one with unexpressed FB rage. I basically only get on when someone messages me, or if someone has just had a baby, and I want to see pics. :-)

I've been engaging in much dithering about Twitter. The majority of tweeters I know are enthusiastic users, so maybe I just need to dive in and give it a go.

  7. I hate to say it but I am more of a FB girl. Although, I have a twitter account, I must say I have not given it much of a chance. For some reason, I find it hard to understand.... I saw just the other day that some people commented on one of my tweets and that was 48 days ago... I am probably alienating people :) by using twitter!!!! I just got a new iPhone, so maybe that will help me get into the swing of things... I hope ;)

  11. I agree love the top poster too. Facebook is so bitchy i find twitter more genuine and so helpful and supportive and does have the edge over facebook. Only really use facebook to keep in touch with people while I'm living away. :)

  13. OMIGOSH!!! I LOVE THIS POST!!

It took me too long to get on twitter and I totally rt'd the quote from India Knight b/c the SECOND I joined twitter I saw how true it is.

I'm not irritated by FB, I totally need it in my life to keep up with my family and friends that are far away, but I would definitely consider giving it up...but NEVER my twitter!!!

In fact, I'm going to tweet this!
