This is the film I've been waiting for since Julie and Julia! Social media, cooking, ScarJo, Florida, FOOD TRUCKS. Just absolutely yes.
Food trucks are pretty big in Orlando which is what I discovered when I went there last year, pull up and tuck in! But my food truck tip for anyone in London (although I would go to the ends of the earth to get my hands on one of these) - Kimchinary - Korean inspired burritos made with either ox cheek or amazing slow cooked pork belly.. so delicious, I dream about these.

The Artist (2011)
Have you seen it yet?! If not, I urge you to do so, and soon!
On this occasion, you absolutely must believe the hype, for this film is amazing. I saw it last weekend with my sister and we sat there with big grins on our faces for most of the film. It's beautiful, funny, and touching. I bet that media and film students everywhere will have great fun analysing how sound is played with.
The film encompasses shiny glitz and glamour and it will have you clamouring towards fake fur and make-up brushes. Some of the themes, such as the economic downturn resonate sharply with today and almost every scene is beautiful.
I think that to really enjoy this film to its full potential it has to be seen in the cinema - you'll kick yourself if you miss it!

Pillow Talk, Doris Day
This is one of my favourites!
Doris Day's flat is amazing - as it would be, she is after a high flying interior decorator in this film.. And she never looks anything short of fabulous - beautiful jewellery, dresses and coats. Even when she's wandering about her apartment trying to use the telephone she does so in beautiful bed jackets.
Rock Hudson is also incredibly charming - as far as I'm concerned, this film has it all, it's incredibly stylish, and very, very funny. Highly recommended!

The Apartment (1960)
...Is one of my favourite films to watch as the nights draw in. It's set in New York, during the colder months of the year, in the 1960s.
The mise-en-scene is beautiful, there's the city itself, the cool office with its rows and rows of type-writers and the (pre-war) apartment itself; high ceilings, pretty archways, a separate kitchen and a tiny table with just two chairs. Also, I love most films from this era which involve Jack Lemmon because he's awesome.
The script is funny and so quotable - a work of genius -
Baxter: 'The mirror, it's broken..'
Fran: 'Yes, I know, I like it that way.. it makes me look the way I feel..'
Perfect melancholia, without any hint of tragedy or heartbreak. A reallly brilliant film
