MKA B-DAY

Happy Birthday to a pair of my style icons for life - (SIFL).. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. I used to spend hours studying what they wore on blogs as a student, and depending on my mood sometimes I still think to myself, would MKA wear this? If so I'll go with it. Few people can really pull off socks and sandals, somehow it works for them.

Stockholm Street Style Inspiration

As part of my Stockholm research I have been pouring over Stockholm street style. Tight black trousers in all form seem to be popular (perfect for me) I think that Acne has much to thank for that. It also seems that huge scarfs and jackets are a must, although the cool ankle boots will almost certainly have to be knee-high in my case.

I realise these locals are probably used to it - but, is it me, or they do not seem at all bitten by the cold? I will be diligently wrapping up.

Winter Weather Dressing

I booked a holiday to Stockholm at the weekend - and I can't wait togo! We're going in less than 2 weeks, so lots of my spare time will be taken up by researching and planning.

Careful packing is a must as we're only taking hand luggage - (we're on a budget, so the extra £30 luggage fee was a definite no.) I've been looking through old winter 'Toast' catalogues for inspiration - a few things are certain, (of course it'll be freeezing) so knee-high boots, thick socks, lots and lots of cosy knitwear, a giant coat and pale blue eye-shadow are all absolute musts.

I'm all ears for Stockholm travel tips if you have any..

Mid Century Modern

.. This is the term Elle magazine used to describe the looming trend for vintage inspired hemlines and shapes. Perfect if, like me, you adore vintage but can't wear it head to toe - Mad Men for the 21st century.
