OH WOW ALEXA.

I'm quite jealous.

When asked 'If she could go out with any celebrity in the world, who would it be..' recently, she replied: 'Alex Turner from the Artic Monkeys, I'm already living the dream.' Yes you are. He's beautiful and you're perfect.

Build a Raft..

I'm Feeling Restless.

Sometimes a bit of meloncholy isn't so bad. On this occasion, all I can think is how summer is drawing to a close which is something I'm not at all excited about it. My new favourite is getting a fantastic job far away, old friends are staying away.. it all makes me feel a little trapped, and slightly miserable.
The mornings of waking up to sight of the North coast of Africa has made me crave the unknown. I've been thinking of visits to Morocco, getting lost through winding streets and staying in a mirad. I think these plans will have to be put on hold for the time being, I don't have enough money. It'll happen eventually.

For now, days will be spent making the most of the remaining days of summer and spending as much time as possible with my favourite people before they leave.. and before I leave for Norwich, once agina, for my third and final year.

Glandular Fever on the Coast of Spain.

I have finally returned from my holidays in Spain. The holiday went quickly, but I feel as if I've been gone forever. The first week of the holiday was spent in the tourist resort of 'Club Calohanda,' on the costa del sol. The apartment was beautiful, on clear days you can see the coast of Africa from our balcony, there were also pretty gardens and friendly staff.

The following week was spent at my parents own little apartment on the South East coast, after a near 6hour drive, not including the stop at the fantastic 'Alhambre,' a Moorish castle in Granada. The apartment is small but very cosy and contains only fond memories for me. Time here was spent wandering through Spanish markets, shopping and watching parades in the nearby towns and cities.Unfortunately for me, a few days before leaving for the trip, I came down with a case of 'Glandular fever,' and so spent the best part of holiday feeling delirious and incredibly sleepy. The one good thing about being so tired, was that I really got into the Spanish way of life by taking a daily 'siesta.' Between the hours of 2pm-4pm I would nap in my hazy room with a soft breeze, and wake up feeling just well enough to catch the late afternoon sun and go for a swim.I always feel unhappy after returning from a holiday, all I seem to want to do is take off again.. or make new plans.

English Country House

As part of my 20th Birthday celebrations, my parents took me to visit the historical, British landmark, Wimpole Hall. Until the 1970s the house had been privately owned by a couple, who had the whole place to themselves, (along with their staff.) It's now owned by the national trust. It was the houses last owners, Captain and Elise Bambridge, who dedicated their lives to collecting art and furniture for the house ready for it to be left to the national trust. The Captain died quite a while before Elise and she had no other family. Some areas of the house had a sad tone to them. I wonder if the somber air would have diminished had she had a loving family, rather than acquired a lot of, albeit beautiful, material goods. Either way, she had a beautiful house and I imagine she had a lot of friends.

Latitude..

'It's more than just a music festival.'

I cannot believe it's been a whole week since I set off for Latitude festival in Southwold, Suffolk. I was gripped with panic when I realised that the day had crept up sooner than I had expected and I hadn't prepared nearly as much as I had hoped. It turned out that didn't matter, as I was assured by friends that all I needed were a few clothes, wellies (or riding boots in my case,) baby wipes, deodorant, wine, my sleeping bag, tent and toilet roll.

The festival was wonderfully pleasant, perhaps not a word commonly used to describe a music festival. The surroundings were beautiful, with a pretty lake in the centre, stages in the woods, pink sheep, buntings and colourful trees. I had read about all it had to offer in 'Elle' magazine and was certainly not disappointed.

With two of my best friends, Laura and Nathan there, the company was exceptional and the content was fantasic. Jeffrey Lewis did an amazing midnight acoustic set in the poetry tent on Saturday night and Thom Yorke was nothing but utterly brilliant on Sunday morning. Other highlights included Patrick Wolf's set on the main stage, Fever Ray's eerie performance and of course, the mystical beauty of (Bat for Lashes) Natasha Khan, who appeared to glide across the stage on Friday night. Our nights were spent drinking cider and wine whilst dancing in the woods until the djs called it a night. It was a fantastic trip with Laura before she departs for her year long travels in Canada in a few weeks.

I can't wait to go back next year. ♥

Gothic Sunshine

Finally home with some time to spare,
Latitude was FANTASTIC, I adored every minute of it... But, I will discuss that at a later date, as soon as my photos have been developed!
Last week in Norwich, whilst moving into my new house, I walked through a century-old graveyard a total of 4 times in one day. It was a journey I will be talking a lot throughout the next year, not that I particularly mind, in fact I quite enjoyed the walk. As I carried my 'belkin wireless router' amongst the headstones it was hauntingly serene and gothic-ly charming on that sunny day in July.

I felt like Maude from the 1970s film, 'Harold and Maude,' which involves a young man obsessed with death, and Maude; an 80 year old non conformist. The pair form an unlikely relationship over their mutual infatuation with graveyards. It's beautiful, in a strange and surprising way.
Maude's fire for living is inspiring and Harold's obsession with death is fascinating.

I'll sleep when I'm dead...

The past two days have been ridiculously busy, so unfortunately I have had no time to update.. I moved house in Norwich, had one final get together in my old house, was filmed for a documentary about my school, and because of all that.. forgot to prepare for LATITUDE festival tomorrow. I didn't realise it was coming up so quickly! I was expecting to spend some time at home, but I will have all summer for that!

So, now it's twenty to one in the morning, and I still have to pack. Looks like sleep will not be on the cards until Monday at the earliest. I can't wait to post a more in depth blog about my new house and other events, as well as Latitude when I return..

That girl has the most beautiful hair I have ever seen.
