Dark Party.

Is finally tonight...

I got back to Luton today, just in time for 21st Birthday bbqs and 'Dark Party'. Unfortunately a thunder storm has just begun, I going to take it as a sign of things to come, in a good way... but hopefully it will have stopped by the time I go out, I don't want to get wet.

Due to my poor timing and bus route alterations I missed my opportunity to road trip to a 'Death Oh Eff' gig in London with Phil and the band. So instead, yesterday was spent picnicking and sunbathing in parks around Norwich. Now, I'm back in Luton and racing to get ready, I have been looking forward to this night all week! I can't wait to see everyone again.

What I wore yesterday, In Heigham park, Norwich. My favourite place to go for a walk, it has a perfect tranquility and reminds me of uncomplicated, lazy days in the sun.

Perfect Inbetween day.

Today I was finally able to shake my feelings of restlessness. This morning, for the first time in almost two weeks, I had a proper lie-in. Then, one of my favourite moments of any day.. a lazy breakfast and cup of tea in front of 'The Hills,' all alone in my breezy, sunlit living room. Followed by lunch outside with one of my best friends, Adam, (the picture below shows both the guy and the garden in question!) Then, some shopping in the city, finished with a trip 'Pedros,' a lovely little Mexican restaurant with the best staff and food.. complete with frozen strawberry margaritas. And in between I listened to a lot of Florence and the Machine.

It's such a shame that I feel as if now I have finally stopped I need to go again! I'm heading back to my parent's in Luton tomorrow to begin the summer parties and late nights before my week full of work experience! I'm quite sad to be leaving Norwich again, but I know I'll be back and I have so much to be looking forward to over the next week or two!
But, whenever I'm away I always really miss looking out at this view..

Drink to the Memories...

I'm back in Norwich for the next few days in order to regain a bit of distance and hopefully relax a bit. I can't wait for some much needed alone time over the next few days after this hectic period. Hopefully while I'm here I'll remember just how good avoiding the rat race is.. especially since I've been spending so much time tirelessly looking for a job recently. But, I am very pleased to say that I actually got offered some work experience at at a teen magazine, starting this Monday, which I am so excited about!

As for now, my time-out in Norwich has started as I mean it to go on.. with best friends, new (possible) couples, cider and wine at one of my favourite little pubs, 'the Langtry', which is just down the road from my house.

Lets Go Back..

Once I got used to the hard work and long hours I grew to really love the job and my colleagues in Paris. I would gladly go back for another week of work tomorrow. The money and the moonlit walk through the streets of Pairs on Thursday, with a coke bottle filled with red wine, accompanied by some great new friends made the 5am wake up calls, painful feet and ridiculously tired eyes all worth it!

Here is a picture of me and my lovely roommate for the week, Sophie, standing outside the Eiffel tower...

I'm planning a trip back as soon as my finances will allow it. I have a list of shopping visits and restaurants trips which one of the recently graduated, Parisian 'buggy girls' scrawled out for me on the back of a page of raffle tickets during one of my tiresome hours spent in the cloak room.

'We'll always have Paris'

I'm not sure that working for a company who sells weaponry in a busy restaurant is what I had in mind for this job. Especially considering I haven’t the faintest interest in hospitality and don’t believe in war. On the plus side, I can see the Eiffel tower on the way to work, albeit, miles in the distance. It makes the 7am start bearable... As does the following text from my genius friend, Nathan. Sent to me on the eve of my trip, whatever the situation, I can rely on him for reassurance..

(after me commenting that 'we will always have Norwich,' just like Rick and Ilsa would always have Paris in Casablanca.... And, how (under his instruction,) I should turn my heartache into art..)

His reply: 'Norwich is much more beautiful. It's the perfect way, until you get writers block and become more depressed. Instead of as time goes by you'll have kids by MGMT.'
Here is a picture of him, he is never wrong and wears that facial expression a lot.

Last Chance.

I am about to get ready for the 'last chance' LCR... signifying the end of my second year at university. For now, I'm going to put on my favourite, (very sparkly) skirt, paint my nails red and drink cider. I can't wait!!

Also.. here is what I wore today.

This photo was taken at my favourite park. Some of my favourite people in the world have walked through it with me.

Lina Scheynius.

Today I have been inspired by Lina Scheynius' beautiful photography.
I adore the hazy and wistful nature of the images. They have a dreamy and distant quality, capturing the quite moments which may otherwise go by unnoticed...

Inside my bag..

The contents of a girls bag can reveal a lot about her.
Here is what I carried around with me yesterday:

UK Elle Magazine.
LG Chocolate, rather old now.. but still working and still pretty.
Ipod.
Keys.. with my favourite, and rather large, blue aspinal of London keyring. Despite having such a large set of keys they are constantly getting lost in the bottom of my bag, no matter the size of the bag!
Kiss Me Philosophy Lip balm.. absolutely gorgeous stuff, made all the better by the words on the tube which read: 'the road to intimacy is lots of kissing.'
Rimmel lip stick
Spare batteries for my digital camera.
Emery board
Badger Balm..for my skin care emergencies.
Notebook.. filled with lecture notes in my tiny, tiny handwriting.
Benefit '10' make-up palette
A minimum of two 'bic super fine' biros.
Comb.
My very battered and past it wallet.
My (new) old camera, which takes the most beautiful & dreamy photos.

Sunday as Usual...

Staying up all night. Sleep in the day.

Following the Summer Bash last night I have spent the entire day in bed, only emerging a little while ago to fetch a cup of tea.

The night began with cider round at one of my loveliest friends houses, followed by a trip to the summer bash fairground on campus..( where i worried about the safety of the rides,) before heading inside for more drinks and dancing... followed by late night chats and falling asleep at dawn.

.. as for now..I can't think of a better way to spend the day after rather than lounging around in my cosy, floral bedsheets, with the window open and listening to intermittent rain showers. Of course, sleeping all day is made all the better when you know that on a grey Sunday in June, after one of the best nights of the year, there is nothing worth getting out of bed for..
and, even better, knowing that there is someone worth staying IN bed for... ♥

First Ever Post.

I'm not sure what the purpose of this blog will be yet... But for now, I intend it to document things that inspire me, things that I love, things I have done, things I want to do... in the meantime..

About me:
I like lying on floral bedsheets whilst reading magazines and writing lists, sitting on blankets outdoors, drinking wine, wandering, never forgetting, knowing about the past, being kind to animals and the environment, sunbathing, blow drying my hair, eating spaghetti bolognese.

And of course, those long summer evenings... where we'll sit around for hours, falling in love and over our feet, without a care for tomorrow... or anything else for that matter. And it's only just the beginning.
